i don't want to be a soldier
who the captain of some sinking ship
would stow
far below

if you love me
why'd you let me go?

Arise, my soul, arise; shake off thy guilty fears
The bleeding sacrifice in my behalf appears
Before the throne my surety stands
Before the throne my surety stands
My name is written on His hands

i am me.

The mountains are a despairing sight

And the forests join the ballet

The moon, it hardly rises at night

For fear of being seen

Even the willows sway with apprehension

The shade giving no protection

: : :

I won’t be home tonight

It’s going to be a long, long time

I’ll be a stranger

A stranger till the end

I’m a vagabond in this land

this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope

because of Yahweh's great love we are not consumed
for his compassions never fail

they are new every morning
great is your faithfulness

i say to myself, "Yahweh is my portion
therefore I will wait for him."

Yahweh is good to those whose hope is in him
to the one who seeks him

it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of Yahweh

It is not always easy.
In fact, alot of the time it’s strenuous...

It does not always make sense.
In fact, alot of the time it’s confusing...

It is not always safe.
In fact, alot of the time it’s perilous...

It does not always feel good.
In fact, alot of the time it’s painful...

...in my short, measly life so far, that...

But no matter.

Jesus is just as much the King of my pain as He is the King of my joy.

Jesus is just as much in control of my chaos as He is in control of my future.

I like David. I agree with him.

read it slowly now... don't rush it.

Psalm 61

1 Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.

4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
Selah

5 For you have heard my vows, O God;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

6 Increase the days of the king's life,
his years for many generations.

7 May he be enthroned in God's presence forever;
appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.

8 Then will I ever sing praise to your name
and fulfill my vows day after day.
